Notes: Disagree played just as the rain stopped, allowing me to walk around the stage and snap photos.
Notes: Yuna is fun and easy to shoot as she doesn’t move around so much. Attention has to be taken so that you capture her while her eyes are open or is looking outward towards the crowd.
Notes: The lighting was interesting when Faizal Tahir was performing.
Notes: It started to pour heavier while Estranged was playing, allowing me to only take photos from the right side of the stage. Couldn’t get a close up of Din or walk far enough to zoom over the stage to photograph Azwin.
Notes: Pijie has an interesting t-shirt! Bittersweet is one really interesting band as they rarely move around the stage while performing. Easy to snap, but you won’t get many action or dynamic pictures. Pijie on the other hand, has really interesting poses and facial expressions (which DOES NOT suit the music the band plays at all! Hah!).
Notes: The band members move around the stage every now and then allowing more action shots. The bassist tend to get close to the edge of the stage, allowing more wide angle shots. Interesting band to shoot.
I like to get 2 or more band members in one shot while using my 70-200 lens.
This year’s Flyniversary started well early in the evening, at about 4pm with Couple as the opening act. I only managed to get to the venue at about 7.30pm due to the downpour which lasted from 5pm till 8.30pm. Anyways, even with the heavy rain, the crowd were still standing in front of the stage, entertained by performers like Shila (OIAM), James Baum and also One Buck Short.
VIP ticket holders got to have dinner and drinks at the special VIP tent while waiting for the second part of the event to start at 8pm, with Caprice being the first performer on stage. He brought along Annatasha for the first song, Thinking Of You. For more pictures, do check out http://www.lifeinkl.com/2009/11/21/4th-flyniversary-pictures/
DigiMusic Live was postponed due to Tyson (the vocalist) having an accident but The All-American Rejects did come back to perform after Tyson recovered and they were well rewarded for it.
The event was supposed to be held at Central Park Avenue, 1 Utama but the postponement caused the event to be relocated to the car park of the Bukit Jalil stadium instead. Both venues were good locations for this event but I reckon the Bukit Jalil had the upper hand of being just next to the LRT station (which had extended its operating hours to 12:30am that night).
Approximately 10,000 fans packed the venue that night, some coming even as early as 12 in the afternoon to book the front row location. There was a long snaking line from the entrance of the fenced up crowd area at about 6pm. If you were hungry, you could get some food from the stalls outside, or even inside, as there was a Pizza Hut stall inside.
The DiGi Music LIVE Concert that has been postponed due to The All-American Rejects‘ lead singer’s accident will be happening this coming weekend, 31st October 2009 at the Car Park A of the Bukit Jalil Outdoor Stadium (same venue as the other Bukit Jalil gigs).
Of course, The All American Rejects will be the headlining act, but our local boys, Disagree, Pop Shuvit and One Buck Short will be the opening bands on that day. Show will start at 6pm onwards, expected to end around 10pm, just in time to catch the LRT home before it stops operating.
How to attend? Well, this is a free event, but you will need tickets. You can head over to the DiGi Music Unlimited counters at GSC 1 Utama, TGV escalator at Sunway Pyramid, or at the Lifestyle Avenue at Sungei Wang Plaza.
Customers who have collected their free concert tickets for the October 10th event do not need to exchange them for new ones.
For more information, you can head over to the official website at http://www.digimusic.com.my/live/index.html
To Prevent The Earth From Moving With You is Disagree‘s second album. Their first being At The End Of The Day, released way back in the year 2004.
Remember the song Crumbs? Well, that was the song that kinda made the band famous but my favorite song from that album was in fact Angels’s Orchestra, a 7 minute powerhouse with double pedals kicking it off at the ending (still playing it occasionally up to today).
Disagree‘s second album titled To Prevent The Earth From Moving With You will be launching on the 30th of June 2009 at Hard Rock Cafe, KL. You may be able to get it at Rock Corner on the very same day itself.
In the meantime, have a listen to their first single, Osaka at their website http://www.disagreeband.com/ (the player is at the bottom of the page).
