The Sony World Photography Awards in Kuala Lumpur was launched on the 4th of February 2010 at the Petronas Galeri, KLCC. The exhibition will be held from the 4th of February till the 28th of March 2010. Entrance is free, but no photography is allowed in the exhibition hall.

The winners from each category (Commercial, sports, portraits, etc) are showcased in the exhibition. One particular photograph which caught my eye was Dustin Humphrey’s commercial photography for Insight. The photo shoot was done at Bali and features prominent surfers on the surface of the water with interesting subjects underwater.  Check out http://www.reelsessions.com/dustinhumphrey_insight.html for more information.

Recently got my hands on the DID Che Guevara 12 inch figure. The box is pretty standard, flip open front with the accessories on the flipped side. The main box contains the figure itself, dressed in an army green uniform and behind it, a ‘L’ sized black t-shirt with Che’s face and a star design on the front.

The accessories are interesting, a pipe (not pipe bomb), pen, journal with lines on the pages, a cigar, and the standard army gear (belt, pouches and guns). Clothes wise, there’s a white t-shirt with Che’s face and star design (heck, would be weird if he wears a t-shirt bearing himself on it) and also a PVC-ish brown bomber jacket, which fits snugly over the uniform.

The 3rd edition of Innovation Enabling Transformation was launched at the Westin Hotel, KL on the 15th of January 2010. The book is a compilation of speeches gave by Tan Sri Dato Dr. Lim Kok Wing throughout the past few years.

A long and close friend of Lim Kok Wing, Datuk Paddy Bowie had the honors to be open the event. Her speech was delightful and casual, in which she humorously mentioned that she did not know what ‘Kok Wing‘ meant in Chinese, but the word ‘Wing‘ did definitely suit Lim Kok Wing as he did spread his wings to fly and excel in his career.
