Recently I have been looking for a place to airbrush my Helmet and a few other items on my “things-to-get-done” list. Since I got a bike, I’m now categorized as another one of those KL Mat-rempits. So to blend in I popped by a few shops listed in www.msportbike.com. I started with the famous Mecinda Racing in Pertama Complex to get myself Rempit-ized.
So my plan was to get an airbrush of Venom done on it for starters. Got me self this design that i like off the net.

Sadly they quoted that to get this done would cost about RM700. Heck that’s why rempits don’t airbrush their helmets.
Since I’ve been assigned to a Project in Malacca for 3 months I tried to see if I could get my helmet done a little cheaper there. So i dropped by the famous EVERPLOT in Mahkota Parade. Showed them the pic and suprisingly they gave me a freaking cheap quote costing RM200. Heck so i sent it in since it was dirt cheap.
Here’s a few pictures of how it turned out.

It’s time to change to engine oil for my trusty Kancil as it has reached 5000km since the last oil change. The whole process was done by kumbang and pictures were taken by ah_mei. Words by kenchill.
You can save the RM15 off the labor costs and take some time to know your engine! All you need for a car service (or rather engine oil change) is just a new bottle of engine oil (Shell, Castrol, choose whatever that suits your taste and ask the shopkeeper for the suitable SAE rating for your car) and a new oil filter. If you are driving a local car, those items can be gotten at nearly any petrol station or kedai tayar.

Every year or so (or maybe every month or so if you’re a drifter) there comes the time when you need to change your tires. Tires are pretty damn important because they’re the only part of the car actually touching the ground. Pretty much everything a car does – from braking, steering and accelerating – relies on the tires. So even if you had a lancer evo engine inside your Wira, if your tires have no grip whatsoever, your car would lose a race to a bicycle.

As Forest Gump so wisely said “Shit happens”, and last month it did. The Government decided to increase petrol prices to RM2.70 a litre. Except that unlike the other times they raised petrol prices, this time it’s different. This time prices went from high to extraordinarily high. And boy does it hurt.
Let’s assume the pay for a fresh grad in KL is about RM2500. And because this graduate comes from Sarawak, he has to rent a room for about RM300 a month. He also buys himself a car, because face it, everyone drives in KL. Public transportation sucks big time. His monthly installments are about RM500. And he has to pump a full tank of petrol once a week (RM100 each time) so this leaves him with RM2500-500-300-400 = RM 1300. Minus off EPF and you’re left with RM 1100. This is just his salary minus the cost of the necessary things to get to work! Then assuming he spends RM20 a day on food (including the weekends when he brings his gf to nicer restaurants), he’ll need another 20×30 = RM600 for food. That leaves RM500. Sure that may sound like a lot, but in reality, you can’t even get 5 decent t-shirts for that kind of money (and this assumes he doesn’t pay income tax).
So things have to change. But there’s not really much flexibility, since our fresh grad’s expenses are pretty basic. But there’s wiggle room, at least.

Rumours spread real fast. Especially rumours regarding price increases. This afternoon, SMSes were flying around stating that the petrol price will increase, some stating up to RM3.20 and some, RM2.70. I was placing my bets on a 20% increase though, about RM2.30.
So, at around 5pm, people who are leaving work took heed of the rumours and visited the petrol station to fill up petrol at the price of RM1.92/liter for the last time. Does not matter whether it was empty tank of half tank, as long as there was money to be saved.
And there it happened, again, as always. Petrol stations jammed up with cars. Pump attendants were busy as heck, receiving payments, filling the petrol and directing traffic ensuring that chaos won’t happen (queue jumpers, etc). Roads leading in and out of the petrol stations were then clogged up, swallowing innocent drivers into the jam. Stubborn and ignorant drivers
