Asia pop diva A-Mei unleashes her new concert tour “AMIT FIRST World Tour Live” which is titled after her aboriginal name, Gulilai Amit, will see a lot of fresh elements. It is very different from her previous pop ventures, seeing her turned into hard-hitting rocker on stage, showing the darker and repressed side of her personality as well as to establish that she is more than just ballads.

Filling in arenas across Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Singapore, among others, AMIT Concert fetched tremendous response. The organizer also reviewed that this AMIT concert will feature a million-dollar 3-dimensional spherical stage constituted by steel frames and covered with 5-tier LED screens and flying lights, promising audiences spectacular visual effects.

Besides her new album, fans can also look forward to A*Mei belting out crowd favorites such as “Released” (解脫), “, “The One Who Loves Me the Most Hurts Me the Most” (最爱的人伤我最深), , “Sisters” (姐妹),”Can’t Cry” (哭不出来), “I Want Happiness” (我要快乐), “Remember” (记得), “Holding Hands” (牵手) and more!
A-Mei continues to thrill her audience with her full of energy, powerhouse vocal. She commands the stage with exuberant stage persona and kept the crowd screaming without much coaxing. In her recent AMIT Live concert in Singapore, she tackled a snippet of that famous operatic aria, Nessum Dorma – in full flight soprano. Amit did a blistering version of the former’s Oncoming Love, with a blinding guitar solo by MARTY FRIEDMAN.

A-mei made her debut in the world of music in 1996, achieving instant mega commercial success. She has frequently been called a diva of the Mandarin pop music scene, as well as the “Pride of Taiwan”. Zhang Hui Mei has won numerous music awards including “Best Newcomer Award” (1997) in Taiwan Channel V Music Awards; “Best Female Artiste” (2002) in Golden Melody Award; “World Peace Music Award” (2004); “Favorite Music Artiste Award” (2004) in MTV Asia and “Most Popular Female Singer” (2004) in China Central Television (CCTV) and Channel V; also nominated for “Best Female Vocalist of the Year” for 16th Taiwan Golden Melody Awards (2005). She became one of the biggest music sensations within the pop music pantheon of the Mandarin-speaking world.
