MTV World Stage Malaysia is just around the corner and the new lineup is as such:

Estranged
Kasabian
The All American Rejects
Hoobastank
Raygun
Pixie Lott
Boys like Girls

Celcom Xpax, the main sponsor for this event, has already given out all of their free tickets, so you might have to source your tickets through competitions on radio stations and magazines.

Want to get the best out of your MTV World Stage experience? Here’s how!

Rules – don’t we all hate them? For the rockers in us, they are meant to be broken. Here at MTV, we are all up for a wild night at MTV World Stage. Seriously, you haven’t really partied unless you’ve partied with us. But even the wildest and most decadent rock stars have their own set of rules and regulations, be it backstage (no stairs, five magnums of Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque champagnes, etc) or onstage (absolutely no flash!).

While we are not stoic fascists, what we can do best is to offer your some tips and suggestions for you party revelers to get the best out of your MTV World Stage experience. Ready? Brace yourselves and let’s go!

(SUPER) TIP NO. 1: GET LUCKY
Money can’t buy the best things in the world. Likewise, passes to MTV World Stage cannot be bought (read: priceless or potential eBay item). To secure a seat in the best gig soon-to-happen in Asia, there’s only one thing you can do: take part in our contest and win them. Knowing people in high or low places is purely a subjective alternative in this case.

TIP NO. 2: BE EARLY
Once you are feeling a bit of that Charlie spirit with a pass in your hand, the next thing to do is get to the venue early! Gates open three hours before show time and we will start on time. Passes are all free-seating/standing so be sure to find the best spots in the house, especially you are one of those who love to reach your hand out, trying to touch the stars at the front. For those who are fans of the “arms-crossed-stand-at-the-back” thing, well, it’s 15,000 people we are talking about. You still want a spot with a good view standing at the back.

TIP NO. 3: PARKING
If you are not one of those environment-friendly or Saving Gaia types and prefer to drive instead of taking public transport, the world hasn’t given up on you yet. Conveniently, there is ample parking space.

TIP NO. 4: TRAVEL LIGHT
You are here to party, not having a picnic or a camping trip. Bring only the essentials – money, mobile phones, etc – and keep it in a small bag. There will be bag checks before you can enter the venue. Don’t lose precious time hanging out with the security by bringing a luggage to the venue.

TIP NO. 5: STORMY WEATHER
The show must go on – rain or shine. Bring rain gear like a foldable poncho (see: Tip no. 4 – Travel Light) if a storm threatens. Of course we don’t mind hot girls or guys dancing in the rain. Just make sure you don’t get sick afterwards.

TIP NO. 6: HUNGRY?
Sunway Lagoon Resort boasts, and we quote, “a splendiferous assortment of food & beverage outlets around the theme park, a spectacular mixture of local delights and Western touch.” There will be food all around you while you are there. One would never go hungry in a place like this. (Bring money!)

TIP NO. 7: DRESS CODE
Everyone wants to dress to the nines for a party but be sensible. MTV World Stage is an outdoor event. Gear up for crowds and the elements. In short, wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes; consider earplugs.

TIP NO. 8: BE COOL
Bring a good attitude. Be courteous, and have fun. And take care of the people around you by not pushing and shoving unnecessarily. Remember, everyone’s there for a good time. Make friends!

TIP NO. 9: SAFETY FIRST
MTV World Stage is about music. Just be there to experience and enjoy it the best you can. Do not bring weapons, drugs, laser pointers, fireworks, cameras, recording devices, backpacks or beach balls. Please, please, do not stand on seats or in the aisles. If you fall and tumble down the audience, we are not going to issue a press release reenacting the whole Bruno/Eminem incident again.

TIP NO. 10: WATER!!!
Yes, Sunway Lagoon Resort’s Surf Beach will be dried out for the event but that doesn’t mean you should be too. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. It’s going to be a long day. You don’t want to be the first to faint before the event even started.

And that’s all, folks. Short list, right? All in all, just come and we will be there for you!
