Ipoh locals, Harmacy continued the evening, entertaining the crowd with one of their most popular songs, Riuh. To top it all off, Muney happily grinded his guitar against the microphone stand.
And after that, there was Spritz, who played in the darkness, except for some green neon lights at their guitar pedal board. The mood allowed the audience to sit down and relax while allowing the more curious ones to stand beside the stage to enjoy what they were delivering.
Their set was accompanied by visuals in the form of video clips and random graphics. There was also audio samples from news broadcasts and speeches thrown in together with the heavily distorted guitars.
Julie Goes Overseas came up after Spritz.
Zip Zieller came on stage with the vocalist wearing a woman’s dress. It was kinda scary, as the dress was weird and his afro-ish hair added to the effect. But it was all out rock and roll and blues and the crowd enjoyed it as well.
Not to mention he flipped his skirt to show his boxes several times and ended up stage diving into the crowd after their last song. Nice!
Rock n roll made way for British pop as The Times took stage and played out all of their fantastic tunes which included Tunjuk Perasaan, Disko Dansa, Khayal Khayalan, Singapura Ke Kuala Lumpur and also a new song called Spektakular.
And just before ending their set, Naza threw himself onto the crowd for some crowd surfing.
Bloody Mary and Madread was scheduled to play next but I had to leave due to logistic reasons.
All in all, Terbang Oh! Bulan was a great gig with an interesting line up but was plagued with some delays in between bands. Sometimes, the delays went up to about 15 minutes long. The crowd was forgiving though as they took the opportunity to rest during the delays and stayed from the afternoon till late. Let’s hope the delays will be kept to a minimum in the next event.
