Rockaway 2009 was held last month, on the 20th of June 2009 at Capsquare. Upon arriving at noon time, the crowd was already huge! The venue was a bit too small for the amount of people who attended. Well, there was also Pesta Malam Indonesia 3 happening at Bukit Jalil, but all those who came to Rockaway show their spirits and supports for our local acts. Kudos!

The audience area was shaped like a funnel, where a long road led to a medium-sized area in front of the stage. The stage as really huge and tall, allowing people at the back to see what was happening on top of stage.

Car Crash Hearts was nearly ending their set as I entered the VIP area situated just to the right side of the audience area (slightly elavated, allowing a better view). Even though being the first and opening band for the event, the crowd was already hyped out and wanted more from them.

Ipoh locals, Harmacy continued the evening, entertaining the crowd with one of their most popular songs, Riuh. To top it all off, Muney happily grinded his guitar against the microphone stand.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, was busy with ongoing projects. We still have Terbang Oh! Bulan part 2 and the whole Rockaway event coverage (gonna split it up into 3 parts) to be posted soon! Not to forget a short review on Disagree“s new album, To Prevent The Earth From Moving With You.

We have just finished a photoshoot with Estranged during the past weekend and are looking forward to next month”s gigs before Ramadhan starts.

Lastly, we would like to congratulate the TIGERS on their 2 goals against Manchester United last Saturday (although they lost the match, 3-2).

The final leg of the Konsert Penghargaan Search will be held at the Mon’t Kiara Equestrian Park on the 1st of August 2009. Even the line up of opening bands are superb with Zip Zieller, Pesawat, REVENGE and Republic of Brickfields opening for Search. Ah, more REVENGE sweetness!

The schedule for the event will be:

4.00pm: REVENGE
4.50pm: Pesawat
5.40pm: Zip Zieller
6.30pm: Republic of Brickfields
7.30pm: Break
8.45pm: Search
12midnight: End

It looks like each opening band will have more than 30 minutes of show time, and heck, Search will have at least 2 hours for themselves!

The Terbang Oh! Bulan gig was supposed to be held on the 6th of May but then got delayed to the 13th of May to due to venue’s mistake in assigning the venue to another event organiser. It was held at SRJK Yuk Choy, Ipoh.

Upon arrival at 2pm, the event already started, but the inside of the hall wasn’t filled up yet, not until Hujan came. When the crowd heard that Hujan was up next, everyone rushed into the hall to get their best spots.

Hujan started their set with their new song, Obsesi before continuing on with the rest of their popular songs such as Empayarmu, Lonely Soldier Boy, Aku Scandal, Ludah Amerika before ending their set with Ahmoi Chantek.
