Clone Trooper Helmet

A few weeks ago, I was trying to acquire a 1:1 scale Stormtrooper helmet, but the shop which sells it ran out of stock, so I got myself a 1:4 scale Stormtrooper helmet instead. By the way, the 1:1 scale helmet costs about RM690.

This time around, Hasbro released a ‘toy’ version of the Clone Trooper helmet, which is not an exact 1 to 1 replice of the helmet used in the movie, but it is a wearable helmet. It costs just RM144 (the RRP is RM170 I guess) and it is called the Clone Trooper Voice Changer.

The helmet is a little bit oversized, even for an adult’s head (well, if you have a largish body, then it will look perfect). It features adjustable straps on the inside of which you can adjust the diameter of the strap and also the ride height helmet. To fit my head of dreadlocks, I had to maximise the diameter size.

It comes with around 16 preset voice clips, and also a ‘voice changer’ feature where you have to press and hold the ‘voice changer’ button and speaker into the microphone located just in front of your mouth. The voice changer does nothing to change your voice. It just adds static over your voice and plays it through the speaker located on the top of the helemt, just in front of your forehead.

Anyway, I have recorded myself wearing the helmet and playing through the preset voice clips.

Strangely, after 0:08 there is no sound in the video. Sounds like it’s a mute button!
