Mocca is finally coming to Malaysia!! After hearing them through some downloads a few years ago and on their ‘Colours’ album which I managed to purchase when I was visiting Bali last year, I can finally watch them performing live.

Mocca’s dream of going international is now turning reality and fans from Malaysia will have the chance to hear them live in their show this coming August. Mocca Malaysia Live in Malaysia would start from the south as you can catch them on the 12^th August, 2008 at Dewan Jubli Intan, JB while fans in the north would be ready for their next stop at Rockworld, Penang on August 14^th, 2008. Main event will be held at Zouk Club, KL on the 17^th August, 2008.

There will be a couple of bands performing alongside Mocca at every stop of their Malaysian tour, the main event being the one at Zouk, KL. Guest bands for the Zouk venue will be Estrella, Funky Doryz, Apple Juice, The Rahman, The Fridays, Robot Asmara. Decma & The Could Have Been, Rumi and Tasya’s Ink.

The main event at Zouk will be held on August 17th from 4pm up till 11pm (with one or two breaks in between I guess). Pre-sale tickets will go for RM50 (add RM2 ticketing fee, what the heck is a ticketing fee?) and RM60 at door. I will be missing quite some gigs when I’m on holiday in Bali next week so this will be the first gig after I return home from Bali.

Oh, for those who have yet to listen to Mocca, here’s what Mocca sounds like. They are mainly a jazz/lounge band with a hint of bossanova, 70’s retro and happy sounds. Great music to chill out to or when you are relaxing, having your day off. Not very good while working or studying (in my opinion, could vary for you though). Kinda like White Shoes and The Couple’s Company, same same but different.

Sidetrack a little, if I listen to ambient style music while I’m driving, I feel dreamy and everything around me is like a dream while I drive faster and faster. Bad.

So, mark your calendars folks, this event is not to be missed! Time to chill!
